Los Roques Islands
Pristine clear waters, scuba diving among the coral reefs. Los Roques are unique among Venezuela's Caribbean islands, with small rustic "posadas" and true nature tourism.

La Guayana
Venezuela’s "last frontier", a land of gold mines and adventure. A The gateway to lush tropical jungles, the world's highest waterfall, and native South American Indian tribes. Shares the Amazon jungle with neigboring Brazil.

Isla Margarita
Margarita, the "Pearl of the Caribbean", is a freeport of sun, beaches, surf, and jet setters mooring their yachts for a visit in one of the island's casinos. Nightlife is great and it is starting point for many tours to the inside of the country.

The Andes
Condors fly among the snowy peaks of the majestic Andes mountain range. The Andes start in Venezuela, and the capital of the Andes - old colonial Merida - is rated the #1 place in Latin America to live. ANDES.NET, hosted by VE.NET, is the top web-portal for the Andes.

Do I need vaccinations?
Depends on where you are going. If you are heading into the rainforest, a normal series of shots can't hurt. For the rest of the country, no vaccinations are needed.

What about crime?
Caracas, far away from any neighboring countries, is a large city with the normal share of large-city problems; not more and not less. Under normal conditions and with the due precautions (no Rolex, visible gold chains, etc.) you won't have more problems than anywhere else.

What's the best time to travel?
Venezuela has no seasons, so year-round is fine: No matter what time of the year you come, there's a good chance of the sun always shining during most of your stay. There isn't even a really pronounced "rainy season" like in some other tropical countries.

What equipment do I need?
Venezuela is many countries in one, so what you bring will depend on what part of the country you are going to. Merida and the Andes can get cold, with snow at the higher elevations. Margarita and the other islands are always hot. In the south of the country (Amazonia, Gran Sabana, Los Llanos, Orinoco Delta) you will need good shoes, insect protection and binoculars for bird and animal watching.
